Cheng Has KL Team In Fine Trim

Three of five trials taken by in-form trainer's horses, with Dangerous Chance one of them

Trainer Winson Cheng Han Yong enjoyed a pretty good morning at the Kuala Lumpur barrier trials on June 17.

From eight runners spread over four of the five trials, Cheng, who currently sits seventh on the premiership list on 15 winners, collected three winners and two thirds.

The Penang-born handler took the opener just like he drew first blood with Nimbus Cloud at the recently concluded Selangor race meeting on June 15.

Ridden by Andre da Silva, Dangerous Chance was the one to keep the momentum going. From an outside barrier, the Belardo six-year-old was in no hurry to stir the pot as he allowed Rubik Kid, the mount of Khaw Choon Kit, to dictate things.

Content to stay in his wake, Dangerous Chance began to fashion a run at the top of the straight and he drew level at the furlong mark.

To his credit, Rubik Kid did not throw in the towel. As they eyeballed each other, the pair looked like they finished locked together in a dead heat on the line.
