2XU Run participant's body repatriated to Indonesia

The 23-year-old man who died at the 2XU Compression Run on April 27 has been identified as Leonard Darmawan, an Indonesian who was working as a process engineer with Singapore Refining Company on Jurong Island.
When contacted on April 30, Indonesia's Ambassador to Singapore, Suryo Pratomo, told The Straits Times that the Indonesian Embassy is deeply saddened by the death. He also confirmed that Leonard's body was repatriated to Jakarta on April 29, adding that embassy representatives have met with the deceased's family and the police.
The run had flagged off at around 4:15am at the F1 Pit Building on April 27 and is said to have drawn over 20,000 participants for its 5km, 10km, and 21.1km categories.
