ISL: Mohun Bagan take on NEUFC, eye bigger lead

Defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant will aim to bolster their lead at the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) points table when they take on NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday.
The Kolkata giants are locked in a battle with former champions Bengaluru FC for the top spot in the ISL points table.
However, Mohun Bagan have played nine games as opposed to 11 for Bengaluru and a win on Sunday will enable them to drive home their advantage against the southern outfit.
The Highlanders will aim to leverage their recent home form to get back to winning ways, while the Mariners will look to extend their dominant record in this fixture and maintain their stronghold in the top half of the table.
The occasion will be momentous for Mohun Bagan Super Giant star Subhasish Bose, who is on the verge of becoming the first player to make 100 ISL appearances for the Mariners. His leadership and experience will be crucial as his side aims to continue their fine form against the Highlanders.
