Chenab Railway Bridge in J-K receives safety nod

The Chenab Rail Bridge, the highest railway bridge built on the Chenab river to connect Kashmir till Kanyakumari, has finally received the safety nod and is awaiting an inaugural date from the authorities.
Located at a height of 359 metres above sea level, the bridge is 35 metres higher than the Eiffel Tower and five times higher than the Qutub Minar, according to the Northern Railway.
Designed to withstand wind speeds up to 266 kilometres per hour, the bridge is around 1,315 metres long with a shelf life of around 120 years.
