New devices on highways to check over speeding

Over-speeding has caused a rise in accidents as vehicles often crash due to loss of control.
In a bid to control the speed of vehicles and avert accidents along the Kalyani Expressway, the Barrackpore Commissionerate today installed speed laser guns, a device that can detect speed of vehicles instantly.
Stern action against the errant drivers and two-wheeler riders will be taken. Senior state police officers hoped this close monitoring on speed of the vehicles will help reduce road accidents.
