On 7, 8, and 10 October, at Gyan Mancha, the 'Kolkata Dance Festival' was organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
It was conducted by the Kolkata Mayur Lalit Dance Academy, and its director was Debamitra Sengupta.
On Tuesday, 7 October, there was an Odissi duet performance called Ardhanarishwar, performed by Ambika Roy and Archita Chakraborty. The evening began with a beautiful dance performance performed by both dancers. The next performance was a solo performance by Devamitra, a one-act play called Draupadi, which was touching and beautiful to look at. The third performance was a beautiful classical performance by Sangeet Natak Akademi Award-winning Guru Sutapa Talukdar's group Gurukul, which was composed by Guru Sutapa Talukdar herself. The last performance was an Odissi collective dance called Vajrakanti Pallavi, performed by Kolkata Mayur Lalit, planned by Devamitra Sengupta.
