27L people visited Kolkata book fair, books worth ₹25cr sold: Guild

Twenty-seven lakh people visited the International Kolkata Book Fair 2025 and books worth around Rs 25 crore were sold in the fair, claimed Publishers and Booksellers Guild on Monday.

Last year, 29 lakh people visited the fair.

The 12-day book fair was held at the Boi Mela Prangan in Salt Lake from 28 January to 9 February.

Till Sunday morning, the last day of the book fair, books worth Rs 25 crore were sold. Guild president Tridib Chatterjee said on Monday that the amount was higher than last year.

He said the figure will be higher after the updated count of the sale of books till 9 pm on Sunday is available with the Guild.
