Zelestra inks 39 MW solar-wind hybrid power purchase pact with SPB to cut CO2 emissions by 57.6 MT annually

Zelestra, a global leader in multi-technology renewable energy production, firmed up a green energy alliance with Seshasayee Paper and Boards Limited (SPB), a leading player in India's pulp and paper manufacturing sector for over six decades and one of the nation's foremost vertically integrated producers of pulp, power, paper, and paperboard solutions.

The latest move is part of Zelestra's commitment to supporting its customers in their decarbonisation efforts. This long-term 39 MW solar-wind hybrid Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) will supply nearly 7.2 crore units p.a., resulting in a reduction of 57.6 MT CO2 emissions annually, currently attributed to power sourced from the state grid.

The green energy will be generated from Zelestra's first co-located wind-solar hybrid project in India. The project with a total capacity of 150 MW will be built, owned, and operated by the company and will be dedicated to supplying renewable power to corporate and industrial clients under the Intra State Open Access model, top company officials said, adding that the project is expected to be commissioned by February-March 2026.
