Sharp Rise in Crimes Against Dalits Under CPM Rule in Kerala
The Statesman Kolkata
|May 22, 2025
Over the past 9 years, there has been a sharp rise in crimes against Dalit communities under the rule of CPI(M)-led Pinarayi Vijayan Government in Kerala, State BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Wednesday.
"Yet, convictions have occurred in just 8 percent of cases. Even in high-profile incidents like the Walayar Sisters' deaths, justice remains elusive. Dalits continue to face humiliation in schools, government offices, and even police stations," Chandrasekhar said in a message.
"Never before in Kerala's history have Dalits been denied justice as systematically and consistently as they have under this regime," he added.
