Santragachi yard work begins; 30 trains cancelled till 18 May

In what comes as good news to numerous commuters, the South Eastern Railway today kicked off developmental works to improve punctuality of trains.
A yard remodeling work began at Santragachi Station on Wednesday which is aimed to increase the station's handling capacity, ensure more streamlined, efficient rail service for passengers and goods traffic.
However, for enabling the developmental works, the zonal railway has announced train regulations including cancellation of around 30 long-distance trains and several local EMU and MEMU trains. As learnt, the cancellation of local trains has been done from Wednesday, and is to continue till 18 May for specific EMUs on certain days. Likewise, some of the long-distance trains like 22804 Sambalpur-Shalimar Express are to be cancelled from 2 May. The cancellations of some of the long-distance trains are to continue till 18 May.
