Police arrest teen for raping, killing his 8-year-old cousin

In a bizarre incident, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her cousin in the Usti police station area of South 24 Parganas district, creating shock and anger among locals, an official said on Tuesday.

Police have arrested the accused.

According to local sources, the girl went missing on 14 November, while her parents were out for medical treatment.

When they returned home and could not find her, they lodged a police complaint.

After an overnight search, the child's body was found near her house the next morning.
