After ED, simultaneous raids by Asansol police yield tonnes of illegal coal

The Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC) last night raided 14 places under six police station areas and seized 100 tonnes of illegal coal, lodging several cases, for the second consecutive day.
Raids were conducted in Salanpur, Jamuria, Asansol North, Raniganj, Andal and Pandaveswar police station areas. This is the biggest simultaneous raid against the coal mafia by the state police in recent times.
"Further raids will continue. General Diary has been lodged in all these cases and the guilty will be arrested soon," ADPC Commissioner of Police, Sunil Kumar Choudhary, on whose instructions the raids are being carried out.
