35 Cr Saplings To Be Planted In UP In 2025 As CM Sets A Goal To Achieve 20 Pc Green Cover By 2030

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the goal to increase the state's green cover to 20 per cent of the state's geographical area by 2030, a considerable increase from the current 9.96 per cent, will only be successful if tree plantation becomes a people's movement.
He also said that protecting the environment is not just the government's responsibility, but a shared duty of the entire society.
The CM, while addressing a high-level review meeting here on Saturday evening, directed officials to ensure full preparation, coordination, and public participation for the upcoming large-scale plantation drive, scheduled from July 1 to 7. As part of this campaign, the state aims to plant 35 crore saplings in 2025.
