Union Minister Pradhan Reviews Education & Welfare Progress in undivided Koraput Region

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday conducted a comprehensive review of school and higher education, women and child welfare schemes in the undivided Koraput region, covering the aspirational districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur.

At the meeting, Pradhan emphasized the urgent need to address critical issues in the education sector, including the provision of nutritious meals to schoolchildren, filling up of vacant teaching posts, and enhancing the skills of educators. "The National Education Policy (NEP) aims to bring every child to school and provide education in their mother tongue," he stated.

Stressing the importance of reducing dropout rates, Pradhan called for a targeted campaign to ensure school enrolment and retention. He further noted, "The key to a developed Odisha and a developed India lies in education. For the holistic development of aspirational districts, focus must also be laid on healthcare, basic infrastructure, and industrial development."
