Unincorporated establishments up to 7.94 cr; jobs cross 13 cr

The establishments in the unincorporated non-agricultural sector rose to 7.94 crore during April-June 2025, compared to 7.85 crore in the previous quarter, data released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) said on Wednesday.
It said the growth was driven primarily by the trade (3.63 per cent) and other services (3.13 per cent) sectors, while the manufacturing sector contracted by 4.7 per cent during the same period. Employment in the sector crossed the 13 crore mark for the first time in January-March 2025, reaching 13.13 crore. However, it then eased to 12.86 crore in the April-June quarter.
