Tribal Students Protest Delay in Post Matric Scholarship Disbursement

Hundreds of tribal students from various parts of Mayurbhanj district staged a peaceful protest in front of the Collector's office on Wednesday, demanding immediate disbursement of their pending Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) dues for the academic year 2024-25.
The students, hailing from economically weaker tribal backgrounds, expressed deep concern over the inordinate delay in receiving the scholarship amount—an essential government welfare scheme that covers tuition fees, hostel charges, and other academic expenses for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing higher education.
