A video of a trolley rickshaw puller from the Sandhkuda area under Paradip Municipality shifting his ailing wife to Atharbanki CHC on his trolley has gone viral, exposing not only the lack of adequate health services in the port town but also the delay in ambulance response.

Bharati Patra (45), a resident of Sandhkuda, earns her livelihood by collecting and selling used plastic. On Monday, she mistakenly drank water from a discarded plastic bottle, unaware that it contained acid. After consuming it, she began feeling uneasy, with severe stomach pain and a burning sensation in her mouth.

Her husband, Budhiram Patra, who does not have a mobile phone, requested a passerby to call the 108 ambulance service. He was informed that it would take time to reach.
