The Congress said on Thursday that the audacious attack on tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on Tuesday that resulted in 26 fatalities and 17 grievous injuries was an outcome of "intelligence failures and security lapses."
The Congress Working Committee, the top decision-making body of the organisation, that held an emergency meeting on Thursday to deliberate on the Pahalgam terror attack, resolved: "It is imperative that a comprehensive analysis is conducted into the intelligence failures and security lapses that enabled such an attack in a Union Territory – an area directly under the purview of the Union Home Ministry."
