Mumbai Outplay Below Par Delhi to Storm into IPL Playoffs

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians reached the IPL 2025 playoffs in style with a 59-run victory over Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Mumbai have climbed two rungs to take the second spot behind league leaders Gujarat Titans with 16 points from 13 matches. Delhi, who faced a must-win situation in order to stay in contention for the knockout stage, are fifth with 13 points from an equal number of games.
Up against a challenging target of 181 runs, the Capitals never really managed to build up sustained momentum during their chase and folded up for 121 runs in 18.2 overs.
The visitors struggled to deal with the Mumbai bowling on a slowish track and lost wickets at regular intervals. The powerplay was a nightmare for Delhi as they lost their entire top order within the first eight overs with only 55 runs on the board.
