Ganjam has potential to emerge as a New Age Economy hub: Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday called upon Berhampur University to go beyond awarding degrees and certificates and to become a centre of innovation and research.
Speaking at the 26th convocation ceremony of the university, Pradhan said that by 2036, when Odisha marks 100 years of its formation, and by 2047, the centenary of India's independence, the institution should play a pivotal role in shaping a new-age knowledge and economic hub in Ganjam.
In the presence of Odisha Governor Haribabu Kambhampati and Higher Education Minister Suryavansi Suraj, Pradhan inaugurated the university's new Academic Building-I and laid the foundation stones for a series of projects under the PM-USHA scheme, including hostels for researchers and postgraduates, new academic blocks for science and social sciences, a central computer laboratory, and facilities for a cultural museum.
