Centre's fiscal deficit touches 74.5 percent of annual target: CGA

The Centre's fiscal deficit touched 74.5 per cent of the annual target at the end of January 2025, data released by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) said.
According to the data shared by the monthly account of the Government of India upto January, 2025, Government of India has received Rs 24,00,412 crore which is 76.3 per cent of corresponding RE 2024-25 of Total Receipts upto January, 2025. This comprises of Rs 19,03,558 crore Tax Revenue (Net to Centre), Rs 4,67,630 crore of Non-Tax Revenue and Rs 29,224 crore of Non-Debt Capital Receipts.
