Bosumati rice to invest ₹250 cr+ to ramp up capacity, eyes ₹1500cr turnover

Bardhaman Agro Products Pvt Ltd (BAPPL), Rs 700 crore home-grown leader in the rice industry and maker of the Bosumati brand of rice, is in the process of shelling out more than Rs 250 crore (Capex and Opex) to ramp up its capacity to 600 tonnes per day by 2030.

The company is also looking at more than doubling its turnover to Rs 1500 crore (from the current level of Rs 700 crore) by that time.

That's not all. The company will also be tapping new geographies with various offers from its stable, Sekh Rabi-Ul Haque told The Statesman.

Nearly 60 per cent of its rice is Gobindobhog varieties, while 5-7 per cent is Basmati variety, and the rest is Mini Kit and Jilanbuti. The company, which, at present, exports its products to Gulf countries, Australia, Canada, will now explore other Middle Eastern and African countries, including Kenya.
