SA's first range-extended EV bakkie, aims to hit a sweet spot

THE Changan brand launches in South Africa this week, with the Alsvin sedan, the CS75 Pro SUV and the Hunter bakkie spearheading the initial lineup, but the excitement does not end there.
Among other products, importer and distributor Jameel Motors South Africa also plans to enter the new energy vehicle space with the Deepal S07 electric crossover and the Hunter REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle). The Hunter REEV is due to hit South African showrooms in early November, and while final pricing has yet to be announced, a source has told IOL that we can expect it to come in below the R800 000 mark.
This will be South Africa's first range-extended electric bakkie, aiming to offer the best of both worlds thanks to a petrol-powered generator.
