He punched victim and kicked his head
DAD-OF-SIX Sean Notley has been spared jail after he knocked a man out after a night of drinking.
The 43-year-old had been in the Cattle Market pub in Fountain Street, Leek, when he and his friend Jason Sullivan became embroiled in a fight with two other men.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard Notley was seen on CCTV punching one victim. He knocked him to the ground, then kicked him in the head.
He then turned to the other man, and punched him in the face.
Prosecutor Adam Western said Notley and Sullivan were sitting outside the pub at 9pm on January 27 last year when two men walked past.
He added: "Words appear to be exchanged, and after about one minute this defendant delivered a single punch to one of the men's head. The victim remained on his feet and retaliated by punching Mr Sullivan, and a general fight broke out involving all four men. This defendant delivers repeated punches to the same victim and delivers one kick to either his head or body, and the force delivered rendered him unconscious.
