Woman who confronted park bullies threatened with knife

But cops didn’t show up for half an hour

A WOMAN has told how she was threatened with a knife by a gang of boys in school uniform after she intervened in a bullying row at a city park.

She has revealed how she came across a group of five youths in Central Forest Park in Hanley at 4pm last Tuesday.

The 38-year-old - who does not want to reveal her identity for fear of reprisals - said the incident has left her feeling ‘upset and angry’

She added: “One of these lads was getting bullied by the others, so I said ‘stick up for yourself sweet, stay away from them lot, they're not your mates,’ as I was walking past.

“Next thing I knew I could hear the lot of them following behind me and shouting abuse.
