Port Vale will be without left-back Liam Gordon “for a considerable time” according to boss Darren Moore.
PORT Vale will be without left-back Liam Gordon “for a considerable time” according to boss Darren Moore.
The 26-year-old former Bolton Wanderers and Walsall defender looked to have sustained a knee injury against Mansfield Town and Moore confirmed the worst ahead of the club's League One clash at Barnsley today.
Also injured is Mitch Clark (possible hamstring) who is waiting on scan results, while Kyle John remains out for around two weeks according to Moore from playing again but who is on the verge of returning to training.
Moore is comforted by having a big squad, though, and after the Arsenal defeat, he is happy that they go back into battle almost immediately.
“It's great we have another game straight away,” Moore said in his pre-match press conference.
“I think the level the boys got to, and experienced, against Arsenal was really good.
“The messages they were able to give each other in the arena against good opposition and in terms of the performance they were able to put together and sustain that. But Arsenal is gone, it's done, we move on to a really exciting game at Barnsley, an arena | know really well and an arena we should be looking forward to.
