BEN Garrity admitted Port Vale haven't been good enough in the last three League One matches, but insisted it's too early to start worrying.

Vale captain insists 'there’s so much time to turn things around’

RALLYING CRY: Ben Garrity leads Port Vale against Stockport County earlier this season

Ahead of a big game at home to Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow, where points are vital, the Valiants skipper asked for patience because of the time of year. Vale have only gleaned 13 points from 15 games so far as they sit second from bottom of the League One table.

Garrity told the pre-match press conference: “Because results have gone the wrong way we know we haven't been good enough and we are a much better side, but actions speak louder than words and we need to start proving that, and | think the lads know that.

“We work hard on the training pitch and it’s about replicating that for a full game on a match day.”

How does he motivate others?

“By keeping high standards yourself,” he said. “As a captain you can’t motivate people too much, you've just got to come in and take care of your own self before you start looking at others. It's about daily standards.”
