TRAVELLERS Rest booked their place in the semifinals of the Staffordshire FA Sunday Challenge Cup after a tense and hard-fought encounter with The Chase that was ultimately decided on penalties.
GOAL: Jordan Flattley was on the scoresheet as Greenhoffs eased through in the cup.
The game proved to be a tight affair throughout, with both sides showing determination and discipline in a competitive knockout tie.
Josh Bowden found the net for Travellers during the 90 minutes, but despite chances at both ends, neither side was able to take control and force a winner before the final whistle.
With the score level, the match headed to a penalty shootoutand it was Travellers who held their nerve when it mattered most.
In the League Cup third round, Norton Grange advanced with a determined and disciplined display against Lambourne, edging past the current Premier Division leaders.
Goals from Mozamel Kano and a Cian Macintosh penalty proved enough to secure the result.
They're joined in the draw by Greenhoffs, who enjoyed a far more comfortable afternoon against fellow Premier Division side Royal Furlong.
A strong, confident performance saw them take control early and never look back, with Jake Alcock, Jordan Flattley, Adam Catalano and Jack Finney all finding the net.
In the second round of the Sentinel Sunday Cup, Newcastle Athletic produced one of the most remarkable scorelines of the season as they dismantled Football On Trent 22-0.
Among the standout contributions were Lee Mountford, Cory Chevin, Ryan Tinsley, Tom Glover and Ben Hewitt each of whom helped themselves to at least a hat-trick.
In the Premier Division, Loggerheads climbed off the foot of the table with a valuable point on the road against FC Maybank.
The first half was a scrappy affair, with both sides battling for control but struggling to create anything clear-cut.
With chances limited and neither team able to find a breakthrough, the score remained goalless at the interval.
