Staff at dementia specialists recognised for care approach
THE nurse team at a North Staffordshire dementia specialist are celebrating after scooping three trophies in the regional heats of the Great British Care Awards.
Staff at Belong - on the site of the former Maxim's nightclub in Newcastle - have been named Care Home Team of the Year.
They were recognised for Belong's community nursing-style approach which sees residents 'age in place' thanks to its nurses working across the whole village, rather than relocating residents within their home, as is typically found in care settings.
