Stoke 'have yet to prove themselves against top sides'

STOKE City still have to prove themselves against teams at the right end of the Championship if they want to last the pace this season, says EFL pundit Ali Maxwell.

Fifth-placed Stoke have taken 20 points out of a possible 24 against clubs who currently sit in the bottom half but have one point out of a possible 12 against clubs currently in the top half; an away draw with Middlesbrough.

They will have a chance to address that in upcoming home games against fourthplaced Bristol City (Saturday, 3pm) and leaders Coventry City (Saturday, November 8, 3pm), either side of a midweek trip to Gary Rowett's 19th-placed Oxford.

Maxwell said: "The Wrexham win was a bit of a Sorba Thomas special with an inswinging cross that went all the way in - a tight game, Stoke edged and won.
