Man only had £7 to his name when he stole vodka from Asda
A SERIAL shoplifter has avoided jail after he returned to his thieving ways on the same day he was released from prison.
Kieran Sharkey - who has 84 theft offences on his record - had been released from HMP Dovegate near Uttoxeter on October 24 when he targeted the store.
North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard he had been freed on the condition he obeyed the rules of his Criminal Behaviour Order, which forbids him from entering certain stores or committing further shoplifting offences. But he soon landed himself back in trouble visiting Asda on Scotia Road, Tunstall, above.
