School run street ban for drivers

Fines for anyone flouting rules
VEHICLES are to be banned from being driven on a Stoke-on-Trent street during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Murhall Street, in Burslem, will become the latest School Street from today.
It means the city street will become a pedestrian and cyclist-friendly zone between 8.15am and 9.15am and 2.45pm and 3.45pm on school days.
Anyone caught defying the new rule can be hit with a fine.
But residents and businesses in the immediate area will be exempt from the ban.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has brought in the change.
It says the nearest school - St Nathaniel's Academy - is supportive of the move.
