SANDBACH produced a superb bowling performance to turn the tables on Cheadle seconds in NSSCL Division One.

It looked like Cheadle would be banking the points at the halfway stage after they managed to skittle their hosts for a mere 73.

James Jackson picked up 5-10 and there were two victims for Jack Winfield.

Umer Waheed (20) and Jack Collett (18) made the most progress with the bat.

However, any hopes Cheadle had of completing an easy win on the resumption were blown away by Sandbach’s attack.

Cheadle were rolled for a paltry 59 as Waheed captured 4-9 and there were three wickets apiece for Ben Guildford (3-11) and Collett (3-23).

Craig Grimley (22), pictured right, and Sam Akram (11) offered the most resistance for the visitors.

Second-placed Stone SP 2nd XI maintained their promotion push with victory at their Porthill Park counterparts.

Home side Porthill Park put up a decent challenge, though, firstly by amassing 212-7 in the first half of the contest.

Joe Bridgewater (31) laid solid foundations, but it was Tom Mason who lit up the innings. He hit eight fours and five sixes in his 101 to push the hosts beyond the 200-mark. Robert

Pochwyt grabbed 3-38 and there were two wickets for Euan Irving.
