Comments found on social media accounts purportedly belonging to Ian Cooper
REFORM UK has launched an 'urgent' investigation into Staffordshire County Council leader Ian Cooper after racist social media posts purporting to be from accounts in his name were uncovered.
Anti-racism group Hope Not Hate has published an article claiming councillor Cooper posted dozens of 'racist and bigoted' comments on YouTube and X, including offensive remarks aimed at black and Asian public figures.
Mr Cooper, who represents Perrycrofts in Tamworth, has led the county council since Reform's landslide victory in May.
In one YouTube comment from three years ago, the account @iancooper9000 allegedly said lawyer and academic Shola Mos-Shogbamimu should 'F off back to Nigeria, while mangling her surname.
