Robins forced to make defensive call after Tchamadeu picks up ban to miss trip to Portsmouth
MARK Robins is weighing up how to fill a right-back gap at Portsmouth after Junior Tchamadeu was ruled out through suspension.
Tchamadeu picked up his fifth booking of the season as Stoke City lost at Millwall on Tuesday night and will automatically miss a trip to Fratton Park on Saturday. Versatile Bosun Lawal might have been the go-to deputy but he is currently nursing a hamstring injury.
Other options range from captain Ben Wilmot moving across - with Maksym Talovierov a candidate to then make his league debut at centre-half - to handing a first league start to Syd Agina, Jaden Mears or Jaden Dixon.
Robins said: "That's something that we know has always been an issue so it is what it is and we've got to try to deal with it as best we can." Tchamadeu has been walking a tightrope since picking up four bookings in four games in the first few weeks of the season.
