Stoke closing in on recruiting two new players
STOKE City are expected to imminently unveil Maksym Talovierov as their second signing of the summer and are working to quickly follow that up with a third.
Talovierov, the 25-year-old Ukraine centre-half, below, is joining from Plymouth Argyle, where he quickly built a reputation for his aggression and power after breaking their club record when he signed from Austrian side LASK for about £1.7 million in late January.
Argyle have been resigned to losing him this summer after relegation to League One and Stoke have had to fight off considerable competition to get to the front of the queue.
New Plymouth manager Tom Cleverley admitted the deal was virtually complete although he didn't namecheck Stoke as the destination.
