Porthill rise to the challenge and produce an astonishing run chase

PORTHILL Park produced an excellent run chase to take the points from their NSSCL Premier A home game against Stone SP.
The Old County Ground outfit were set 282 for victory on a sun-kissed day - and they rose to the challenge superbly.
John Hancock compiled an excellent century to spearhead the hosts’ winning mission.
Hancock struck 12 fours and three sixes in his 108, with Tom Longworth adding 80, which contained eight fours and one six.
Tom Steele also weighed in with 35, while Matt Coxon (22no), Louis Allison (18) and Ben Cotton (17no) helped to finish matters.
Earlier in the day, Stone SP had seen three players pass the 50-mark in their 281-8 from their 55 overs.
Warrick Fynn top-scored with 68, which included 10 fours and one six, with Joey Sharp adding an unbeaten 62, which came off 35 balls and featured eight boundaries and two maximums.
George Hawbrook had kicked off proceedings with 55, an innings which included seven fours and three sixes.
Tom Kesteven took 3-66 for Porthill Park, and there were a couple of victims for Hancock before his ton heroics.
Checkley saw their lead at the summit trimmed to four points after they were comfortably beaten by Meakins.
Visitors Meakins powered their way to 227 all out in the formative stages of their encounter at Four Trees.
