New youth hub 'has something for everybody'

The Block is intended to give young people a safe place to grow, learn and thrive

A YOUTH Hub has officially opened in Middleport.

The Block has been opened by Middleport Matters Community Trust to give young people a safe place to play games and hang out.

The hub, on Middleport Park, was launched with a free family fun day on Saturday. It was funded by the government's Youth Investment Fund, supported by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and delivered in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, to provide a permanent, purpose-designed hub for young people to 'connect, create, and take part in positive activities.

There is a table tennis table, which doubles up as a pool table, table football, television, a few games consoles, a dart board, a mini library, a kitchen area and toilets.
