MOORE'S BIG KEEPER CALL

PLAYING FOR KEEPS: Ben Amos, main, and Marko Marosi, inset, are vying to start in goal for today's game against AFC Wimbledon.

DARREN Moore has to choose between Ben Amos and Marko Marosi to play in goal for Port Vale at AFC Wimbledon today.

With Joe Gauci on international duty, it represents a chance for one of them to stake a claim, with Amos having performed well in his comeback from injury at Accrington in the Vertu Trophy in midweek.

Ahead of the match, Moore praised Amos for his performance in the 2-0 cup win which kept the momentum going from good results.

"We knew the situation with Ben at the start of the season when he got injured," explained Moore in the pre-match press conference.

"He had a really bad injury for us and it meant it meant we were down down to one goalkeeper so we had to act quickly and bring Joe [on loan from Aston Villa] in.

"Obviously Joe has been playing well, Marko has played his part and I thought it was the right time to give Ben some minutes and he performed where he left off last season.
