Moore targeting final flourish as Vale aim to secure title success

His Port Vale team, promoted last week, now have an excellent chance to lift silverware, with the important part being to make sure they beat Gillingham at home in front of close to 14,000 people.

Then they have to rely on Doncaster Rovers not winning at Notts County, who are going for automatic promotion themselves.

A Vale draw could be enough if Rovers lose.

“This week has been one of great positivity, great energy, and first and foremost it’s congratulations to everybody connected to the club for our promotion,” said Moore.

“Whether you support the club, work for the club, it’s been a joint effort.

“It's been a positive week of work and we are looking forward to another good game on Saturday.”
