Moore relishing 'relentless' start as Valiants prepare for derby day
The Sentinel
|August 15, 2025
A TRIP to Birmingham City is something for Darren Moore and his Port Vale to look forward to in the Carabao Cup - but he's more interested on League One points at the moment.
The Valiants boss is purely focused on the fourth of what will now be a nine-game month, when his side take on Burton Albion tomorrow.
"I'm really pleased to get through to the second round and to pick Birmingham City as it's a great football club and we know the journey that they are currently on and the journey that we're on," said Moore in his pre-match press conference.
"So we look forward to that tie when it comes around.
"It's the ninth game we'll have so it's consistent, continuous and relentless and I'd probably use those three words to it but that's football and you've got that ninth game because in midweek we were successful at Blackpool. So it presented us with another game. We are looking forward to it running alongside a busy league campaign. It's something we want to work towards and to be involved in.
