Monkey magic!

N a recent visit to the Peak District and Stoke-on-Trent, I stumbled upon a true gem.

Trentham Monkey Forest, home to 140 endangered Barbary macaques, is the largest primate habitat in the UK.

Monkeys are free to roam within the woodland and, as I discovered, it’s an experience that's worth every penny.

Stepping through the double gates of the park feels like entering another world. Dense tree cover, winding paths and a sense of anticipation built up within me as we ventured deeper into the forest. I wanted to see monkeys and I wanted to see them right this very second.

Despite the park being busy, the wide paths allowed for easy navigation past groups of children and families a breeze if you're accustomed to navigating London at rush hour like I am.
