Hero Xavier in hospital after crossing drama
A MUM has told how her partner prevented a tragedy by pushing their daughter out of the path of a car while on the school run.
Rebekah Bensley says Xavier Lamprecht suffered serious injuries after being struck by a black Peugeot car outside the Meadows Primary School in Madeley Heath.
But she said it was a 'miracle' no children were hurt after Xavier's quick-thinking actions on Wednesday morning stopped their nine-year-old daughter from being hit.
Xavier, aged 48, was last night still in the Royal Stoke University Hospital and it is not yet known whether he will be well enough to make it home for Christmas.
The family are now calling on Staffordshire County Council to install safety measures on Newcastle Road following a series of near-misses and incidents.
