Former Stoke City midfielder Ryan Woods is on the move again this summer to sign for Oldham Athletic.
Woods, who was signed by Gary Rowett from Brentford for £7 million in 2018/19, is 31 now and has been on the move to Millwall, Birmingham City, Hull City, Bristol Rovers and Exeter City over the last five years.
He played fairly regularly as Exeter finished 16th in League One last season but has now joined Oldham, who are returning to League Two after winning the National League playoffs.
Oldham boss Micky Mellon said: “Ryan has played at the highest levels in the Championship and has the type of character and quality we want in this group. His ability to control games, keep the ball moving, and his leadership both on and off the pitch will be crucial as we look to push on this season. This is a quality addition.”
