Michael's 'love letter' to city

A FORMER student has had his creative work featured in a show which celebrated one of Stoke-on-Trent’s most famous artists of the 20th century.

Michael Southan graduated in drama performance and theatre arts in 2013, in which he found a love for writing.

During the three-year course at Staffordshire University, Michael took part in a 12-week module delivered at the time by playwright Deborah McAndrew - co-artistic director at Claybody Theatre, which is based at the Dipping House at Spode.

After graduation, Michael moved back home to Wolverhampton but remained in contact with Deborah.

And she invited him to create a new monologue for Ode to Arthur - a theatre performance inspired by the life of Arthur Berry.
