Bosses launched investigation into blunder
FAST-FOOD giant McDonald's has apologised to a Muslim couple after mistakenly including bacon in one of their Egg and Cheese McMuffins.
The global firm launched a 'thorough investigation' following the blunder at the Trent Vale branch.
The couple had visited the Springfield Retail Park branch at 9.40am on Wednesday, July 2 after spending the night at the nearby Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Their order - two Egg and Cheese McMuffins, two hash browns and two apple juices - came to a total of £9.98.
But when one half of the couple bit into their McMuffin they discovered it included bacon too.
