NEWCASTLE & Hartshill fourths were in fine form to emerge victorious on their NSSCL Division Eight trip to Cheadle 4th XI.

Matt finish as Smith claims four wickets in Newcastle & Hartshill win

Newcastle stuck 163 all out on the board early in the afternoon, led by Daniel Bogges' 36. Oscar Abel (26) and Peter Leighton (25) lent valuable support to the Newcastle cause.

Euan Bratt, James Alcock, William Blood and Patrick Smith all took two wickets for the home side.

In reply, Lee Pinches (17) and Oscar Whieldon-Harris (12) made starts before Bratt came in to compile an unbeaten 39.

But Newcastle & Hartshill's attack was too much for the Moorlanders as they fell to 100 all out with Matt Smith claiming 4-27 and double strikes coming from Ethan Shinu and Abel.
