Man threatened teens with a hammer and pocket knife

Youngsters had challenged him over his sex 'joke' aimed at girl

DRUNKEN Jonathan Eardley held a knife to a man's face in a beer garden - after being challenged by a group of youths.

The 57-year-old made a sexual innuendo to a teenage girl and one of the boys in the group called him out.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard Eardley then went to his house and returned with a hammer which he banged on railings at the park. He went back home and came out again with a pocket knife.

He told the teenagers he would remember their faces until they died before he confronted a man in a beer garden and pressed the knife to his face. Now Eardley has been sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for 18 months.
