Man had knife in pocket as he hid from police in a tree

Mason McLatchie has been sentenced for nine offences including burglaries, thefts and assault.

McLatchie, of Mountford Street, Burslem, was jailed for four years when he appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

He is also subject to a five-year criminal behaviour order which bans him from concealing his face in shops.

Prosecutor Gurdit Singh gave the court the following list of offences by McLatchie:

On March 8, 2023 he was challenged by officers at TK Maxx. He broke out, officers gave chase and found him up a tree. He then refused to be handcuffed. A knife was found in his pocket.
