JCB boss retains top spot over bet365 owners in new Sunday Times Rich List

- Sentinel Reporter

STAFFORDSHIRE business tycoon Lord Bamford has retained his position as the richest person in the West Midlands - after a £1.8 billion rise in his wealth over the last 12 months.

The JCB chairman and his family are now worth £9.45 billion, up from £7.65 billion last year, according to the 2025 edition of The Sunday Times Rich List which has been published this week.

It means Lord Bamford has kept bet365 and Stoke City owners, the Coates family, off top spot for the second year in a row despite their wealth soaring by £1.9 billion since 2024.

Denise, John and Peter Coates' combined wealth now stands at £9.44 billion.
